CHEVY TRAVERSE DIMENSIONS: INTERIOR COMFORT
With its three rows of seating, the Chevy Traverse interior has the capacity to accommodate as many as eight passengers – though higher trim levels will offer two second-row captain’s chairs and seven seats instead. Plus, each row supplies every rider plenty of comfort via generous measurements for even your tallest of friends to feel right at home:
|
Headroom |
Legroom |
Front Row |
41.3 in |
41 in |
Second Row |
40 in |
38.4 in |
Third Row |

In the first row, the headroom comes to 41.3 inches, the legroom to 41 inches, the shoulder room to 62.1 inches, and the hip room to 58.1 inches. This theme of comfort continues as we look at the measurements for the second row: It contains a headroom measurement of 40 inches as well as 38.4 inches of legroom, 62.2 inches of shoulder room, and 56.9 inches of hip room.
Even with all this spaciousness in the first two rows, the folks in the third row can still look forward to plenty of room to stretch out and relax. The headroom back there comes to 38.2 inches, the legroom to 33.5 inches, the shoulder room to 57.5 inches, and the hip room to 48.5 inches.
COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
Aside from being incredibly spacious, the Traverse makes it easy for you to make the most out of the interior. With 10 standard cupholders, every passenger will have somewhere to store their drinks.
Also, the second-row passenger-side seat in both the 7- and 8-passenger configurations of the Traverse includes a Smart Slide® feature that makes it simple to access the third row. Simply pull the lever so your passengers can climb back with ease.
CARGO CAPACITY OF THE TRAVERSE
The Traverse also delivers when it comes to its potential for stowing, whether it’s for camping supplies or your children’s sporting equipment. Its cargo volume behind the first row of seats provides you with an incredible 98.2 cubic feet. You’ll also find 57.8 cubic feet behind the second row and 23 cubic feet behind the third row.
Additionally, the Traverse has a maximum cargo area length of 89.75 inches when the rear seats are folded down flat. So, when you’re trying to bring home your new floor lamp or even a Christmas tree, you’ll have plenty of room for it.
To make sure you can make the most of your cargo capacity and get what you need out of it, the Traverse also has several ways for you to reconfigure the seating and cargo arrangements. Thanks to the standard 60/40 split 3-passenger bench seat of the second and third rows, you can fold down either side to gain seating space while maximizing your cargo area.
Even if you choose the 7-passenger configuration, you’ll still have a 60/40 split bench seat in the third row and two flat-folding captain’s chairs in the second row. And with the available hands-free gesture liftgate, you’ll be able to open your cargo area without lifting a finger.
2021 TRAVERSE: EXTERIOR SPECS
The overall size of the Chevy Traverse makes it a convenient SUV. It features a wheelbase of 120.9 inches. Additionally, the Traverse is 204.3 inches long, 78.6 inches wide, and 70.7 inches high.
With overall measurements like these, you can expect proficient cornering when taking on those tighter city curves. Plus, the 39-foot turning circle of the Traverse means it’s agile enough to make a sharp turn when you need it.
Not only are the wheel dimensions just as convenient, but they add to the already stylish exterior as well. For instance, the 18-inch all-season blackwall tires come standard, and the available 20-inch all-season blackwall tires will pair nicely with the available 20-inch machined-face aluminum wheels with Technical Gray pockets.
The 2021 Traverse stands tall with a minimum of 7.51 inches of ground clearance. This will give you a clear view over the road and will make sure you can climb over uneven terrain with ease.
CHEVROLET TRAVERSE: TECH & ENTERTAINMENT FEATURES
The Chevy Traverse comes standard with the Chevy Infotainment System and a 7-inch diagonal color touchscreen display, which makes seeing and using the dashboard controls nice and easy. There’s also an available 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen display, which will surely increase the level of convenience even further.
The Traverse also makes an impression in the entertainment department with such available features as the Bose® premium audio system, which employs 10 speakers to effectively fill the cabin with high-quality sound.
As the driver, you’ll also get to take advantage of the high-tech Driver Information Center, which gives you easy access to all the most essential pieces of information, such as your speed, fuel range, and oil life. This comes standard with a 3.5-inch diagonal screen that can be upgraded to the available 4.2-inch screen on higher trim levels.
2021 CHEVY TRAVERSE: PERFORMANCE ABILITIES
The Traverse comes standard with a powerful 3.6L V6 engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission. Together, these work to deliver excellent performance abilities so you can have a great drive.
They achieve up to 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, offering serious power with a punch. However, it’s just as efficient with an EPA-estimated 18 city/27 highway MPG.
The most exciting ability offered by this powertrain, though, is its available towing capacity. When properly equipped, the Traverse can tow a maximum of 5,000 pounds. This is thanks to the available Trailer Equipment package, which includes essentials such as:
- A heavy-duty cooling system
- Trailer hitch
- Hitch guidance
Altogether, the 2021 Chevy Traverse is built to handle everything your life has in store.
