IS THE MALIBU OR CAMRY BIGGER?

MALIBU OR CAMRY BIGGER

Whether en route to the office or out on the open road, you’ll have plenty of room to stretch out and get comfortable in both spacious sedans. The Camry gives drivers 38.3 inches of headroom, but Malibu drivers can sit a little bit straighter with 39.1 inches of headroom.

If traveling with others, the Camry provides a passenger volume of 100.4 cubic feet. The Malibu is slightly more comfortable for crowds, however, with 102.5 cubic feet of passenger volume. Malibu road trippers can pack heavier, as well, with 15.7 cubic feet of cargo space—compared to 15.1 cubic feet of cargo space in the Camry.

Overall, if you want a roomier feel in the cabin and more cargo space, the Malibu does appear more accommodating than the Camry.

CHEVY MALIBU VS TOYOTA CAMRY SAFETY TECHNOLOGY

SAFETY TECHNOLOGY

Both the Chevy Malibu and Toyota Camry work hard to ensure you avoid collisions with available safety technology features. These include lane-keeping systems, so you don’t drift from your intended lane of travel. Plus, forward-collision alerts will help you avoid any potential front impacts.

When it comes to safety, nothing is more important than keeping your eyes on the road. That’s why it’s important to have a large, easy-to-read driver’s information center, to get the most information in the shortest amount of time. The largest available instrument cluster available on the Camry is 7 inches, while the largest display available on the Malibu is a full 8 inches.

The Chevy Malibu features Teen Driver technology, something the Camry does not. Teen Driver technology is an available built-in system that promotes safe driving habits in teens. After all, there is nothing more important than the safety of your family, especially those who are going out on the road on their own for the first time.

With Teen Driver technology, you can coach your teen even when you’re not there. It allows you to set speed alerts and volume limits. It can even mute the radio until the occupants are buckled in, and it’ll also automatically engage the available safety features. With this unique feature at your back, you can let your young adult fly free with confidence.

CHEVY MALIBU VS TOYOTA CAMRY COMFORT FEATURES

COMFORT FEATURES

Whether your commute is five minutes or 20, you’ll want a comfortable cabin to make the trip in. Both the Malibu and Camry offer an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, so you can customize your captain’s chair just how you like it. For your co-pilot, both have 6-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seats.

When you’ve left your car in the above-ground parking lot on those warm summer days, both the Malibu and Camry offer available ventilated front seats to help cool you down. For those chilly mornings, both have heated front seats to keep you and your co-pilot toasty warm. To keep your fingers warm as you navigate the city streets, both offer an available heated steering wheel.

However, if you’re trying to coax reluctant kids into the car for school in winter, only the Malibu offers heated rear outboard seats. If you go with the Camry, consider putting a blanket in the backseat to help warm them up on the drive to school.

CHEVY MALIBU VS TOYOTA CAMRY CONVENIENCE FEATURES

CONVENIENCE FEATURES

Both the Chevy Malibu and Toyota Camry provide passengers with comfort and convenience features to improve their riding experience. If you’ve got your hands full with the morning coffee run, both offer keyless entry as standard. Simply approach the vehicle with the key fob in your pocket, and the doors will unlock for you.

When you’re on a long drive for a business meeting in the next town over, you need a nice audio co-pilot to keep you company. Both the Malibu and Camry have standard Apple CarPlay®, but only the Malibu offers available wireless functionality for Android Auto™ as well. And, with the available wireless charging pad, you can have a music-filled road trip with no tangling wires.

The Malibu also includes an extra nice-to-have feature with the Rear Seat Reminder. It provides an alert when you exit the car, so you don’t forget to check the back seat for your laptop, lunch, or other necessities you don’t want to forget. The Camry doesn’t include this kind of a feature, leaving drivers to run back out to their car later.

Parking Assistance

Parking Assistance

When you’re just pulling into the lot for work, the Malibu has your back. With Rear Park Assist available on the LS, RS, and RT trims, you can have confidence backing into a spot, as this system will give you an audio cue when you’re getting too close to an obstacle.

Available on the Premier trim level is Automatic Park Assist, which will search for and steer you into open parallel and perpendicular parking spots. You control the acceleration and braking, and it will take care of the steering for you. Though the Camry sports several convenient features, it lacks any sort of parking assistance.
