PERFORMANCE
Chevy Bolt EV

Range is all the rage with electric vehicles since you want to travel far before stopping to charge. Both the Bolt EV and the LEAF deliver on that prospect; however, the Bolt EV is more likely to take you farther.

Miles to Go

The Nissan LEAF offers two battery options, the standard of which can provide an EPA-estimated 149 miles. The available battery has the potential to travel up to 212 miles when fully charged. The Chevy Bolt EV, by comparison, only offers one battery type but can yield an EPA-estimated range of 259 miles—outperforming both Nissan batteries.

Packed With Power

Horsepower is higher on the Bolt EV, too. Depending on which electric motor you choose for the LEAF, you’ll experience a different output. However, its standard powertrain offers up to 147 horsepower. In comparison, the Bolt EV’s powertrain can produce up to 200 horsepower.

The Chevy’s standard electric motor also produces 266 lb-ft of torque, which is more than the Nissan’s highest electric motor torque value of 250 lb-ft.

INTERIOR
Chevy Bolt EV

The Chevy Bolt EV and the Nissan LEAF are perfect for your next road trip, which means you’re going to need lots of space for your on-road essentials. Fortunately, these electric cars offer plenty of room for your road trippin’ crew, your cargo, and your spontaneous pickups.

Wiggle Room Included

Both the Bolt EV and the LEAF offer seating for up to five people, but the Bolt EV’s passenger volume is slightly larger at 93.9 cubic feet compared to the LEAF’s 92.4 cubic feet. With a smidgen more wiggle room in the Chevy, your passengers can avoid bumping elbows and stepping on toes with greater ease.

Got Gear?

Each model features a 60/40 split-folding rear seat that will allow you to store more cargo as needed. However, the Bolt offers considerably more room with a maximum cargo volume of 57 cubic feet. The LEAF, on the other hand, only reaches a maximum of 30 cubic feet of space.

In addition, the Bolt features a false cargo floor that can be utilized to store even more gear. By lifting up this floor, you’ll uncover a deeper area of space where items can fit. Once you close this floor, the surface will remain flat to store even more items on top. The LEAF, however, does not feature this innovative cargo storage option.

TECHNOLOGY
Chevy Bolt EV

As futuristic models, you can expect to find advanced technologies and well-adorned cockpits in the Chevy Bolt EV and the Nissan LEAF. With the help of expanded displays, smartphone integration, booming sound systems, and wireless connectivity, the miles will fly by.

Driver-Centric Cockpit

The electric technology that powers these cars is impressive enough, but the interior technology is worth highlighting as well. The touchscreen is often a central focus, as it’s where you’ll be able to access certain apps. On the Chevy model, you’ll find a standard 10.2-inch display. The Nissan model offers slightly less with an 8-inch screen.

Both models come standard with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, so you’ll be able to access the various features of those platforms, such as listening to music. To immerse yourself in your entertainment, the Bolt EV makes six speakers standard, while four speakers are standard on the LEAF.

Highly Connected Tech

The Chevy Bolt EV stands alone in its offering of a Wi-Fi® hotspot as well as an available upgrade to a wireless device charger. These features allow you to connect to the Internet while on the road and keep your smartphone charged up for the many miles ahead.

Unfortunately, neither a hotspot nor a wireless charger can be found on the Nissan LEAF.
