STEP 1: INSPECT YOUR TIRES AND CHECK YOUR PRESSURE What to do with nail in tire indianapolis in

After you’ve encountered a flat tire, it’s always a good idea to check your tires to for any extra damage. Most importantly though, it’s a very good idea to check your tire pressure before you go anywhere. Knowing your tire pressure is important for knowing if your car is good to drive to the shop or if you need a spare.

Depending on the tire as well as the way your tire has been punctured, you may not need to use a spare. Sometimes, your tire may be able to retain enough air for you to drive on it long enough to bring it to a mechanic. If this is the case though, don’t wait before visiting a service center, eventually your tire will run out of air and you may cause additional damage.

STEP 2: VISIT A SERVICE CENTER

Once you’ve brought your car in for service, a technician will inspect your tire to make a clear assessment of the damage to your tread. In many cases, a service technician will be able to repair the tire tread and prevent you from having to replace the tire in full.

Factors that may come into play when dealing with tire damage is considering whether or not the sidewall has been damaged at all. If the nail has punctured your tire in the tread and is embedded in it, fixing your tire is fairly easy. If your sidewall is punctured in any way though, your tire’s structure will have been damaged too extensively to properly mend.

STEP 3: HAVE YOUR TIRES REPLACED tire replacement

In the event that your puncture can’t be mended through a simple restoration process, you’re going to need to have it replaced. This is needed if the puncture is just too big or the structure of the tire itself is just too damaged.

If you’re looking to shop for tires yourself, it’s a good idea to consider the size of the tire needed for your vehicle. Take a look at your owner’s manual to learn the type of tire that your vehicle needs.
