Chevy Traverse Maintenance Schedule
The Chevrolet Traverse is known for being a reliable midsize SUV. However, to ensure its dependability, you need to keep up with the necessary maintenance. Otherwise, the vehicle may not perform as well as you’d like around Indianapolis, Fishers, and Speedway.
Certain tasks need to be completed at specific mileage intervals. We’ll tell you which ones those are in this Chevy Traverse maintenance schedule.
Read through the schedule below, and contact Andy Mohr Speedway Chevrolet to schedule service for your automobile.
When you’ve reached 7,500 miles in the Chevrolet Traverse, you’ll need to have the following maintenance tasks completed...
• Check engine oil level and percentage. Change oil and filter, if necessary.
• Rotate tires.
• Check tire inflation pressure.
• Inspect tire wear.
• Check engine coolant level.
• Check windshield washer fluid level.
• Visually inspect windshield wiper blades for wear, cracking, or contamination.
• Visually check for fluid leaks.
• Inspect engine air cleaner filter.
• Inspect brake system.
• Visually inspect steering, suspension, and chassis components for damaged, loose, or missing parts or signs of wear.
22,500 MILES
The 22,500-mile service interval will follow the same schedule as the 7,500-mile one, which includes...
• Check restraint system components.
• Visually inspect fuel system for damage or leaks.
• Visually inspect exhaust system and nearby heat shields for loose or damaged parts.
• Lubricate body components.
• Check starter switch.
• Check parking brake and automatic transmission park mechanism.
• Check accelerator pedal for damage, high effort, or binding. Replace, if necessary.
• Visually inspect gas strut for signs of wear, cracks, or other damage. Check the hold open ability of the strut. If the hold open ability is low, service the gas strut.
• Inspect sunroof track and seal, if equipped.
At this point, you’ll also want to replace the passenger compartment air filter.
45,000 MILES
The 45,000-mile check will match the 22,500-mile one. But, you’ll also want to inspect the evaporative control system. Plus, you’ll need to replace the engine air cleaner filter at this point.
60,000 MILES & 97,500 MILES
When you reach 60,000 miles, you’ll want to get the same service done as you did at 7,500 miles. But, on top of that, you’ll want to replace the spark plugs and inspect the spark plug wires. This is if your vehicle has a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine.
At 97,500 miles, you’ll want to replace the spark plugs and inspect the wires if your Traverse has a 3.6L V6 engine.
150,000 MILES
If your vehicle is still performing well after 150,000 miles, then you’ve done a great job at keeping up with routine maintenance.
At this point, there are only two new tasks that’ll need to be completed. You’ll need to visually inspect the accessory drive belts. You’ll also need to drain and fill the engine cooling system.
