Chevy Impala Maintenance Schedule
At the Andy Mohr Speedway Chevrolet service center, we’re not only interested in repairing your car and taking care of routine maintenance. We also want to arm Indianapolis, Fishers, and Carmel drivers with the knowledge necessary to stay on top of these things.
The Chevy Impala maintenance schedule isn’t complicated. Read on to discover what needs to be performed at each of its important service intervals.
EVERY 7,500 MILES
When you bring your Chevy Impala to the mechanic for the first time at 7,500 miles, it will still be fairly new. For that reason, it only needs a couple of things.
First of all, the oil and oil filter likely need to be changed at this time. The technician will check levels and top them off as necessary.
The tires should also be rotated at this point to ensure their longevity and even tread wear.
EVERY 22,500 MILES
After 22,500 miles, the passenger compartment air filter will almost certainly need to be changed. This will keep things clean and comfy for all occupants in the car.
By this point, there’s also a good chance the front-end will be out of alignment. If so, have the technician take care of that for you. While they’re at it, they should also check the tire tread wear to make sure everything looks good.
EVERY 45,000 MILES
After you repeat the above maintenance again, there’s a few specific things that will need to be taken care of in your Impala. First of all, the engine air cleaner filter should be replaced.
The evaporative control system may be a little worn at this point, so your mechanic will need to take a look. They can replace any parts as necessary.
With all these miles built up, your Chevy tires are probably ready to go, as well. You’ll want to look into a new set to ensure you have good wheel grip.
Finally, the brake system will likely be showing signs of wear. Brake pads and rotors might need to be changed, particularly if you’ve heard any squealing coming from the brakes recently.
EVERY 97,500 MILES
The previously discussed maintenance is going to repeat for a while. Anytime the technician needs to replace something, they’ll let you know.
However, by this time, it’s very likely that your spark plugs are starting to go. As these are the components that trigger the engine ignition, you don’t want them to malfunction on you.
EVERY 150,000 MILES
Here we are: it’s the last major milestone in your car’s maintenance schedule. At this point, you’ll have to flush and refill the engine cooling system. The mechanic should also inspect all the accessory drive belts to make sure they haven’t slipped or torn.
