Chevy Equinox Maintenance Schedule

Chevy Equinox

The Chevy Equinox has always been known for its reliability and functionality. In order to keep your Equinox running smoothly, you’ll want to make sure it receives routine maintenance by the proper technicians. Knowing the Chevy Equinox maintenance schedule can help you keep your car on track and on the road.

Our team at Andy Mohr Speedway Chevrolet has created the helpful maintenance schedule below to help drivers in the Indianapolis, Fishers, and Carmel areas stay ahead of the curve when it comes to their car’s health.

Schedule Service

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE Chevy service

In order to keep your Equinox running in peak condition, it’s going to need regularly scheduled maintenance.

It’s recommended that the services below be completed every 7,500 miles:

• Rotate tires and perform required services

• Check engine oil level and oil life percentages

• Receive Chevy oil change

• Drain the diesel fuel filter of water (diesel only)

By the time your car hits the 15,000-mile mark, it’s recommended that these services should have been done twice already.

22,500 MILES

In addition to the regular maintenance, the passenger compartment air filter should be replaced. This piece of equipment filters all the incoming outside air before it comes through the air vents and into the passenger cabin. As you’d guess, this piece of equipment can be filthy, so getting it replaced is important to you and your passengers’ health.

45,000 MILES tire service

At 45,000 miles, all the usually recommended services should be performed again, along with a couple other services. The evaporative control system should be checked and serviced should there be any problems.

The engine air filter should be replaced to increase air quality and flow to your engine to prevent any overheating and improve performance.

The automatic transmission fluid should also be changed as your transmission is one of the most important parts of the car. Its fluid, similar to engine oil, keeps it lubricated, so it runs smoothly.

60,000 MILES

At this mileage interval, you’ll want to have your usual services performed in addition to one very important one: replace the spark plugs and inspect the spark plug wires. This service is crucial to ensuring that your car will reliably start for you each time you turn the key or push the start button.

90,000 MILES oil change

You’ve made it to 90,000 miles and your car is running like a champ, so now it’s time for a major comprehensive inspection to make sure that’s the case in the future, too.

This inspection and service appointment is to make sure that all your car’s parts are in a good condition to keep functioning for the next 90,000 miles. It’ll include all services between the 7,500- and 60,000-mile service intervals. Be sure to check your Chevy Equinox tires to ensure the tread depth hasn’t exceeded 4/32”. If so, look into tire replacement for your vehicle.
